Witches of Latvia

Is it true that the Norther you go, the darker the magic you find?

In some cases, it is true, but in some cases it is not relevant. It depends on how people answer their life challenges and how they want to educate the next generation.

Why write about the witches of Latvia, the same I will write about the witches from Lithuania as well.

I never had to visit those countries. I never had to meet people from those countries before, only in Denmark. Both cases showed themselves as a helper to me. But they did everything to make the situation humiliating...

These posts are about to see why someone from Latvia comes to Denmark, speaks as if they would have sweet mouth, manipulative, and even dared to use some level of hypnosis, and put me in an unwished situation..

And most importantly, shaming me for having Armenian or Georgian family roots.

Then recommended me to contact her friend, who may help me .... hmmm

So this post is about the Latvian witches and their symbolism, who are their goddesses...

Here I start with basic folk symbols from Latvia.

Māra is the highest-ranking goddess in Latvian mythology, Mother Earth

Māra:

- the highest-ranking goddess in Latvian mythology

- "She is the patroness of all feminine duties (children, cattle),

- patroness of all the economic activities ("God made the table, Māra made the bread"),

- even money and markets.

- Being the alternate side of Dievs, she takes a person's body after their death while Dievs is taking the soul.

- She is the goddess of the land, which is called Māras zeme ('Māra's land').

- She is called 'Mother of Cows' (Govu māte), the same way the Vedic Dawn-goddess is called gávām mātár- 'id'.

- In western Latvia, and to a lesser degree in the rest of Latvia, she was strongly associated with Laima, and may have been considered the same deity."

Festivel was held on August 15, just like Virgin Mary or Holy Mary.

The White Deer

The White Deer A Lativian Folk Tale by Liudmila Kopylova

The White Deer. Latvian folk tale in the retelling of Liudmila Kopylova. Illustrations by Nikolai Kochergin., Published by "Detskaya Literatura", Moscow, 1971.

The most important part of the story, that everyone who went after the white stag or deer became stone. The other important figure is the 9-headed serpent. A lot of people and animals became stone.

The solution is from the bonfire, the ashes from the bonfire through on the stones and they become alive again.

The witch died at the end of the story, when she breathed her last, the white deer became free, as the dark magic was broken. The white deer started to live free in the forest.

Summary:

So the witch kept the deer under a magic that attracted more and more people, and they all became stone. The freedom came through the ashes for the people, and the death of the witch meant freedom for the deer.

From these two characters, we can see that witches and goddesses are very much power-grabbing female people.
